A 37-year-old man threw a Subway sandwich at a federal agent in Washington, D.C. A video of the incident, now widely shared online, shows the man standing near agents before suddenly tossing his sandwich at one of them, hitting the agent in the chest.

Felony assault charge filed

Prosecutors on Wednesday confirmed that the man, named as Sean Charles Dunn, is facing a felony charge for assault. In the clip, Dunn can also be heard yelling “fascists” at a group of federal officers.

DC U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro criticised the act in a statement and video shared on X. “Police officers are not here to be bullied or harmed,” Pirro said. “He may have thought it was funny, but it’s no joke now we’ve charged him with felony assault on a police officer. So, keep your Subway sandwich to yourself! As per the criminal complaint, Dunn admitted to a DC police officer, “I did it. I threw a sandwich.

Federal action in the capital

The incident happened shortly after President Trump sent federal officers to help local police fight crime in Washington. This move put federal authorities in charge of the DC Metropolitan Police Department and brought in the National Guard.

The White House reported that hundreds of extra federal agents have since made over 100 arrests. These include 33 for suspected gun crimes, 23 for immigration violations, 10 for outstanding warrants, and seven for drug-related offences.
